Tax Returns for Individuals and Small Businesses
If you’re an Australian resident and you earn more than $18,000 in the financial year, then you’ll have to file a tax return. You will also need to file a tax return if you have had any tax withheld from your pay, and you want to get it refunded. If you want your tax return prepared by a qualified tax accountant who knows how to get you the best refund possible, pick up the phone and call (02) 9416 7600.
Why have a Tax Agent Prepare Your Tax Return?
To most people, filling out the Tax Pack or working your way through eTax is like pulling teeth, it has to be done but it’s painful while it lasts. That’s why less than 30% of people actually prepare their own tax return… it’s just easier to leave it to the experts. Besides, tax law is always changing and just a small error or misinterpretation could end up costing you many thousands in overpaid tax. We’ve seen some big mistakes from people who have tried to fumble their way through a tax return. For the mistakes we detected early enough, we’ve been able to save our clients thousands of dollars.
When do I have to Do My Tax Return?
If you lodge your own tax return it is due on the 31st of October each year, but if you lodge through a tax agent you have an automatic extension which is usually until May in the following year and sometimes later. However, if you have late tax returns then you won’t get that automatic extension. The Australian Taxation Office have been quite relaxed about late tax returns in the past, but since late 2012 they have been all over it.
How Much does a Tax Return Cost?
For individual tax returns who are primarily earning wages, your tax return will cost $132. If you have an investment property, the cost will be an additional $88. Small business tax returns start from $220 but if you work from home or have a small business, you must have a workable profit and loss statement to take advantage of our competitive fees. If you are a non-resident taxpayer, your tax return will cost from $165 to prepare.
OK, Sounds Good… Can You See Me After Work?

Can’t I Just Send You My Papers and Not Come In?
Absolutely, you can email off your information or send it in and you can have an interview over the phone. In fact, we actually prefer it… there’s really no need for you to actually come in to have your tax return done, but it really just depends on what you prefer.
